Dr. Laura Herrera
PT, DPT
I grew up in Miami, Florida but was born in Santa Clara, Cuba! From a young age, I was always fascinated by how the body moves and ultimately can heal itself. That curiosity led me to working at a small physical therapy practice in Coral Gables, FL. After my time there, I was more than motivated to pursue this field. I then earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Florida International University (paws up!!) after completing my undergraduate degree at the University of Florida.
During my clinical rotations, I gained experience in outpatient orthopedics, sports rehab, and pelvic floor therapy. I have received additional training in male and female pelvic floor rehabilitation through the Herman and Wallace Rehabilitation programs. I also have 6 years of strength training and conditioning experience working with personal clients of all ages and levels.
Core Values:
The core values that drive me are compassion, integrity, and curiosity. As a physical therapist, I believe these three core values foster trust and motivation in my patients, which ultimately results in better outcomes.

I am an orthopedic and pelvic floor physical therapist. I prioritize patient independence through pain re-education, education on symptoms, and modification of activities when needed.
One major challenge patients are facing is feeling discouraged or overwhelmed by their injury and the recovery process. I want to help patients through this process by educating patients and guiding them back to doing the things they love to do!
Conditions You Enjoy Treating:
- Chronic low back pain
- Pelvic floor dysfunction
- Ankle instability
Purpose PT has a great sense of community and a positive, supportive culture.
